Incurred a cross last night thinking of Mariana
Small snow falling Fahrenheit 63 on my bedroom table now at 9 1/2 - then had Grotza - breakfast at 10
At church a few minutes before 11? or, at least, waited about 10 minutes - Mr. Camidge preached 37 minutes from Isiah LXiii. 9. read the 5th. Sunday after the Epiphany and the 12th. day of the month
Much snow fell last night and continues falling, small snow, today - all the day - at home at 1 5/60 - It occurred to me last night to give the old Prince Ourousoff today (his birthday) the little square box of lighters Jones's I brought from London - wrote on 1/4 sheet note

Dressed - off at 2 50/60 to the Ourousoff's to dinner at 3 - found the 2 old people Princesse Barbe Ourousoff an elderly maiden lady very good to all English in distress - the Lady we met the other evening, who was merely paying a morning visit and went away in about 1/2 hour, - and a gentleman by and by came the Kutaisoffs and the 2 children and Princess Radzivill came in to us - we waited an hour till Princess Gortchakoff and her Pouschkine children, the girl and 4 boys, came - all on entering presented something to the old Prince Ourousoff æt. 73 today - and so did I - It was after 4 before we sat down to dinner 23 of us including the 4 Pouschkine boys Alexandre the handsomest and Countess Panin their sister and the 2 little Kutaisoffs, Olga and Paul, - very nice dinner - over in little more than an hour - then immediately coffee - and princess Barbe Orousoff went away - we soon after went to Princess Radzivill to wish her good night, she had gone to her room immediately after dinner and her 2 sisters with her, - staid a few minutes - came away - had to wait in the anteroom for Leoplold - home at 6 1/4
Sat reading Demidoff's voyage nos. 2 and 3, had read no. 1 before, till tea at 8 - afterwards had Grotza - then Ann and I walked about for 40 minutes till near 11 - made the acquaintance of Princess Barbe d'Oroussoff - to call before 12 tomorrow and to go in the evening to Countess Kutaisoff, at 7 1/2 - think of going afterwards to Countess Goudovitch - It seems according to Countess Kutaisoff that the etiquette here is, that on making anyone's acquaintance, One asks to be permitted to call - therefore I did so to Princess Barbe Ourossoff - somehow, I scarcely understand this
Snowy day - fair as we returned this evening - Fahrenheit 65 in the salon at 10 p.m.
